Artificial Camping

Vietnam never seizes to surprise me. Similar to Mui Ne, Giang Dien Park is something that you would not expect in Vietnam. Although the country is full of nature, this kind of nature was not so natural, yet still beautiful. We drove about an hour and half out of Ho Chi Minh City, about 50 km. After the butt-numbing drive, we found Giang Dien Park in the middle of a small town and countryside. A beautiful creek was at the entrance along with pristine landscaping. Giang Dien Park is known for its waterfall, which is natural, of course. It’s really nice, especially with the perfect landscaping around it. It’s not very tall, but is pretty wide. The park is a very picturesque place. We had the option to ride bicycles and go canoeing, but the bikes weren’t in good shape and we couldn’t find the people to give us oars for the canoes. Randy and I were lucky that day because I’m bad at riding a bicycle and Randy is afraid of the water. Good combination, right?

However, the best thing about the park is that you don’t need to bring anything. You can stay in the resort or you can camp! That’s right, you don’t need to bring a tent! They provide tents that are already set up for you on a wooden platform. It’s also covered by a tarp, so if it rains, you’re protected from the top to the bottom.

We were the only ones who stayed overnight, as it was a weekday and also low season for tourists in Vietnam. It’s definitely a nice, quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. But as you can see from the pictures on their web site, it does get pretty crowded.
